NDS Athletics: A Smarter Way to Sweat...

Neural Demand Systems started with a simple vision to create a non-intimidating teaching environment with the best in current evidence-based strength and conditioning techniques and methods to develop stronger minds, bodies and spirits of its athletes. NDS wanted to implement the simplest, most logical and effective training system of improving overall athletic potential (biomotor ability) and injury resilience regardless of any sport, discipline or way of life. If one would term this type of activity appropriately, it would be termed as 'Human Movement Education' or Movement Training. This type of Physical Education stresses Function over Structure, 'Stimulation' over 'Annihilation', Practicing over Working Out, Integrating vs. Isolating and more importantly.. Teaching over Training.

 

Mr. Nartea's passion for teaching his own 'user-friendly', simple and comprehensive Strength-Conditioning system brought him to position himself and the NDS facility as a Commercial School (C.U.P. No. 815) in the city of Lakewood, California in October 2007.

 

The NDS program utilizes Complex Training where High-Intensity Resistance Exercises are combined with Plyometric exercises in the same training session along with Flexibility, Agility, Stability and Proprioceptive work. This approach is the most effective in time efficiency and it provides a superior stimulus for strength & power development throughout the Core Musculature and Supporting Structures all while placing a progressive stress on the CardioPulmonary system for increased Conditioning. With the addition of Basic and Advanced Russian Kettlebell drills and exercises, the athlete can achieve greater dynamic and functional gains in shorter time frames.

 

This is NOT a BodyBuilding or Bulk-UP program although you will see an increase in overall muscle tone and a decrease in overall body fat. The system would not take endless hours to complete, or exhaust the body tremedously causing 'overtraining'. Rather, it would create the perfect mix of all the human elements of basic physical function, provide increased athleticism and generate quick recovery from injury through functional human movement patterns.

 

Just as soccer,basketball, football, and the martial arts disciplines are skills that must be mastered over a lifetime; Human Function, Proprioception, Flexibility, Strength and Power (among many others) are also skills that must be 'practiced' in the same manner. Many of these basic 'functional human movement skills' are overlooked and not taught by a majority of uneducated athletes, coaches and personal trainers alike.

 

Training smarter within a periodized, scalable system is more effective than blindly training harder with no direction and structure at all.  The progressive maintenance and continued construction of a sound physical, fundamental and biomechanical base should be your utmost concern when training for Increased Function and Athletic Development and/or Optimal Life Fitness.

 

The true reality of human performance and fitness training is that there is no one system that provides all the answers. We can only logically and scientifically agree that the most important principles and ideas from a variety of currently effective modes of training and physical development must be incorporated in an easy to understand template which should be understood completely, by not only the teacher, but the student as well.
