Lakewood, CA - Almost 4 years ago today, I embarked on a journey to educate and grow a small community of followers who not only consistently practice our system, but also 'CHeach' (Challenge & Teach) what they learn to those around them whom they know, trust and love. (A delight to see, trust me!). We've been able to grow over the past years to include 70 small group members every cycle and are planning to hit 100 to start 2012. (This doesn't even include our private professional clients). We have also sent a few more local (Lakewood & St. John Bosco HS) athletes to Division I colleges this past year. Tyler Schultz (Univ. of San Francisco -baseball) and Dante Flores (Univ. So. Cal. - Baseball), respectively. Congrats Guys!
This past year, I have also been able to leave my permanent full-time job and pursue what I feel makes me really really happy, deep deep down inside. Yeah, I could have settled for a plush job with almost no accountability, where I'd get paid to do nothing and never grow to my full professional potential in this Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning game... But, I didn't... because I knew I had the practical knowledge throughout my own experiences and soo much more to offer than just counting reps and trying to get people to listen to me on how to be safer and more effective during exercise and accelerated rehabilitation.

Why am I telling you all this? Because it's never been about the money. Yeah, we have to pay rent and keep the lights on, but as far as I can see, it has always been about helping others and providing others with the things they might not be able to provide for themselves or have access to (you know who you are (= ). It's about seeing others take-off, on their own, in their own life journeys knowing I've given them the game-plan and template necessary to see their athletic potential and work hard to improve it and keep challenging the 'wire'. It's about creating a community of people who believe in something because they know for themselves that it works because of their own Self-Discipline, Consistency and Effort.
There are a many great things to be said about those who work hard quietly behind the scenes, to make things look easy on field or on the stage of life. Not everyone is a Natural ( I surely am not! I fail at many things but I continue to practice to improve them), I've taken a beating year after year in my own right to learn what I have at this point. (We ALL have our own struggles). And, I will never cease to be a student-first. Always learning, re-learning, applying, then sharing and growing with others. I should hope you do the same with whatever life-tools you have.
Through all of this, I will be the first to tell you that Strength doesn't come in a bottle, it's not packaged in a trendy, 90-day "Get Swole" program. Strength may not even come from your muscles or from your brain. It certainly can not come from one's size (I've personally seen many guys that look like Tarzan that are only as strong as Jane, if you know what I mean). Strength comes from deep inside, where it reminds you that you are alive. A feeling of being light on your feet, alert and ready for anything and any challenge in life on any day. Strength can also come in numbers. A group of people believing in the same purpose can create enough strength to move the world.
There is a new class of competitive athlete and physically active individual. They Know Better, They Train Smarter and They are Achieving More everyday by doing less. We have a path. If you are not on it, Make Way!
